“Great marriages don’t happen accidentally.

They happen intentionally.”

Reflect • Reconnect • Rekindle

Reflect • Reconnect • Rekindle™

You're Invited

This Isn’t a Marriage Conference. It’s a Guided Experience for the Two of You.

Life gets busy—really busy. Work. Children. Grandchildren. Appointments. Emails. Laundry. Bills. Kids’ sports. Work meetings. Errands.

Sometimes weeks can pass before we realize that we’ve talked about everything that needed to get done—but haven’t really talked about us.

Marriage Rituals™ was created as an intentional interruption to that busyness. I’m inviting you to step away from the schedules, responsibilities, household chores, and everyday distractions and spend intentional time with the person you chose to do life with.

Not because something is wrong with your marriage. Not because your marriage needs to be fixed. Simply because your marriage is worth investing in.

This isn’t a marriage conference, therapy, or counseling. You won’t spend hours listening to someone tell you how your marriage should work.

Instead, Marriage Rituals™ is a guided experience designed to create meaningful conversations between you and your spouse.

Throughout the evening, I’ll guide you through three experiences: Reflect • Reconnect • Rekindle. I’ll introduce each session with a few thoughts, stories, and ideas to help you slow down and think about your marriage from a different perspective.

Then the focus shifts from me to the two of you.

Meaningful questions will appear on the screen, one at a time. Rather than feeling pressure to immediately answer out loud, you and your spouse will each have your own Marriage Rituals™ notebook and time to privately write your thoughts and answers.

Some questions will invite you to look backward and remember. Some will help you think about who your spouse is today. Others will invite you to dream about the adventures, traditions, experiences, and memories you still want to create together.

There are no right answers. There is no sharing with the room. And no one will ask you to reveal anything publicly.

This is about you and your spouse.

At the end of the experience, you’ll receive a collection of the questions from the evening so you can return to them again later. Then, when you’re ready, you and your spouse can exchange notebooks and privately read what the other person wrote.

And that’s where something special can happen.

You may read a memory you didn’t realize meant so much to your spouse. You may discover something they appreciate about you that they don’t say often enough. You may learn about a dream they’ve been carrying, a place they’d love to visit, a tradition they’d like to begin, or something they hope the two of you never stop doing.

One answer may lead to a conversation you haven’t had in years. Another may lead to your next date. Another may become your next adventure. And another may become a ritual you practice for the rest of your marriage. That’s the Marriage Rituals™ experience.

I’m not there to tell you how to have a great marriage. I’m there to create the space, provide the questions, and guide the experience. The most important conversation in the room won’t be the one happening on the stage. It will be the one happening between you and your spouse.

Reflect • Reconnect • Rekindle

Reflect on the story you’ve already written together.

Reconnect with the person your spouse is today.

Rekindle your excitement about the memories, adventures, traditions, and dreams still waiting to be created.

Because great marriages don’t happen accidentally.

They happen intentionally.

Why an Overnight Marriage Escape?

Because Sometimes What a Marriage Needs Most Is Margin.

Most couples don’t intentionally stop connecting; life simply gets crowded. The calendar fills up, responsibilities multiply, work follows us home, children need us, and phones buzz. Somewhere in the middle of all that activity, two people who love each other can begin functioning more like teammates managing life than best friends enjoying it.

Marriage Rituals™ creates something increasingly difficult to find… MARGIN.

Time without somewhere else you need to be.

Time to be on a mini vacation.

Time to laugh, remember, dream, and simply enjoy each other.

That’s why I didn’t want this experience to end with driving home right after a workshop. I want you to stay—check into the hotel, get ready for dinner together, enjoy the evening, sleep in, have breakfast together, and give yourselves permission to enjoy being husband and wife for a little while. Sometimes strengthening a marriage simply requires making room for each other again.

The Setting

Why Hyatt House Cupertino?

I intentionally chose Hyatt House Cupertino because Marriage Rituals™ isn’t meant to feel like a traditional seminar. I wanted a setting that felt comfortable, relaxed, inviting, and more like a getaway.  That way you and your spouse can get in the correct mindframe.

Before I even had this idea for this event, my wife and I did a weekend get away and stayed at this property.  You see I decided my wife and I needed a get away to recalibrate.  We drove to Cupertino.  Went to a brewery for lunch.  Then got a massage.  Then checked in at Hyatt House.

At night we walked to the nearby bowling alley and had lots of fun and when we checked out the next day we went to a winery in Cupertino. With this event, you can make up something similar or better than what we did to make this a memorable weekend!

Your Marriage Rituals™ Experience

This Evening Is About... the Two of You.

During our time together, I’ll introduce several ideas through stories, humor, personal experiences, and short teachings. But then the most important part happens: I’ll stop talking, a question will appear on the screen, you’ll go to your notebook and write in your answers.

Throughout the evening, you’ll move through guided conversations built around the Marriage Rituals™ philosophy. You’ll remember, listen, appreciate, laugh, and dream.  At the end I will give you a document that will have all the questions I will have on the slides.  That way you can reference the question number with what you have written.  Then, you two later on can swap notebooks and see what each other wrote.  Then, you both can have open conversations to learn, grow and to remember your past and plan your future.

I guarantee that you’ll discover things about each other that don’t always come up during daily routine chats.

Your evening begins around the dinner table.

After you check in at 3pm dinner will start at 5pm in the conference room.  Eat some great food and meet other couples who just like you make their marriage a priority! I will have some great smooth jazz playing in the background while you eat and will have a beautiful slide show displaying intriguing marriage related quotes that that make you think.

The Pillars of the Evening

Reflect • Reconnect • Rekindle

Reflect — Remember Your Story

Every marriage has a beginning—a first conversation, a first date, a first kiss, and a moment you realized this person was different. During Reflect, we'll slow down and remember what first attracted you to each other, favorite memories, seasons that strengthened you, and moments you felt deeply loved.

Reconnect — Know Your Spouse's Heart

Your spouse isn't the exact same person you married, and neither are you. Healthy marriages require constantly discovering who our partner is becoming. We'll create space for questions for you both to anser. The goal isn't to fix one another—it's simply to listen.

Rekindle — Keep Writing Your Love Story

Your story isn't finished. There are still places to visit, rituals to begin, and memories waiting to be created. Rekindle is about looking forward together and remembering that romance is a decision. Sometimes rekindling begins with something as simple as deciding to have fun together or travel on purpose to create memories that draw us closer.

Celebrate One Another

We often assume our spouse knows how much we appreciate them, but there's power in saying the words: I appreciate you. I admire you. I'm proud of you. I'm grateful I married you. One sincere sentence can stay with someone for years.

Dream Together

Healthy marriages never stop dreaming together. The best chapters of your marriage may still be waiting to be written.

When the Evening Ends, You Don't Have to Go Home.

One of the best parts of this experience happens after the last slide disappears: there is no late-night freeway drive waiting for you.

Each couple will enjoy their own private King Den Guestroom 310 sq. ft. featuring a king-size bed, separate seating area, blackout curtains, individual climate control, TV, mini refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker.

There are no dishes waiting in the sink, no laundry that needs folding, and no household clutter. Go upstairs, take off your shoes, relax, talk about the evening, laugh, or simply enjoy the quiet. Tonight, home can wait until tomorrow.

Want to Keep the Date Night Going?

The Workshop May End. Your Date Night Doesn't Have To.

Still not ready for bed? Here are some ideas…

1. Stay on the property and play pool in the lobby.

2. Bust out some cards or dominoes and go to work!

3. Chill at the fire pit.

4. Walk 4 minutes to the Bowlmor Cupertino.  Click  here  for more info on the establishment.

Wake Up Together

No alarm telling you to race back into ordinary life.

The next morning, there’s no alarm telling you to race back into ordinary life. Take your time, enjoy breakfast together, have some coffee, and ask each other a simple question: “What was your favorite part of last night?”

I’m not a marriage therapist or counselor, and I won’t pretend to have a perfect marriage or all the answers. I’m a husband, author, entrepreneur, avid traveler, and experience creator who has spent years exploring how we can become more intentional about living a life of self improvement.

Through my work with Next Version You™Romance Your Lady, and Mexico Beach Life Club, I’ve built resources centered on personal growth, intentional romance, and creating shared memories. Marriage Rituals™ brings these ideas together under one core belief:  Great marriages don’t happen accidentally. They happen intentionally.

What This Experience Is—and What It Isn't

Marriage Rituals™ isn’t therapy or counseling. I’m not going to stand in front of the room telling you how your marriage should work. I’m going to tell a few stories, share some laughs, introduce key ideas, ask meaningful questions, and then get out of the way so you can write down your answers to the thought provoking questions I will ask you.  Then in private you and your spouse can swap your answers to have meaningful conversations  with each other. When the evening is over, my goal is for you to look at your spouse and think: “I’m really glad I married you.”

Also, here is another resource you and your spouse should consider…

It is called the Mexico Couples Retreat.  Click here!
